Logistics Promotions and Awards Ceremony |
|
 
The screen fades to reveal a familiar character, a slim young man with tired eyes looking at the crowd and the cameras while he is walking up to the podium. When the person enters the room and reaches the microphone, you recognize the Logistics Command leader, CO Alexanderr N`Corr. Alex clears his throat and focuses. After a couple of seconds, he starts speaking:
"Ladies and Gentlemen of Triumvirate Coalition, as well as all of our Guests present tonight. It is a great pleasure to welcome you today at the TC Logistics Department ceremony. No matter what time of the galactic year we have, no matter of political situation, the Logistics Crew is always there to provide the best logistics services in the Galaxy. Another two months of hard work have passed and the time has come for me again to distinguish some of the crewmen. Now onto promotions! Please congratulate the following sentients on their promotions:"

"Next up my XO, Gath Perrin, and our Supervisory Officer, Lhornic Dappurett, have some awards to hand out to our hard working Loggies!"
Gath and Lhornic step up to center stage, share a quick glance, then Gath begins speaking, "Our first award tonight, goes to a long standing member of Logistics. He has always done a great job, and never let's us down. The general Goods, Cocktail Mixer Award, goes to Rick Fias." Gath waits for the applause to die down before continuing, "The second award, goes to a fellow who has been with TC many years, and recently transferred to Logistics. You will always find him keeping busy at something. The Least Comatose, Smoothie Specialist Award goes to Eduarde Calibal." Gath smiles and steps back to allow Lhornic forward. The supervisory officer motions to one of his men, Technician Brevik Nyland, to join him on stage. Lhornic opens a small box as Brevik stops in front of him, "Brevik, for your hard work and dedication it is my pleasure to present to you the Ship Haulage: Smoothie Specialist Award." Lhornic pins the medal to the Technician's uniform and the two men shake hands before settling back into their seats concluding the awards for the night.

With the awards done Director N`Corr once again steps to the front of the stage, a small tear in his eye noticeable to the keen-eyed members of the audience. With a distant stare and a smile on his face he spoke, "Thank you gentlemen, and congratulations to the awardees. Now, let me say how thankful I am for the chance of working with all of you. Unfortunately, recently I have been struck with the RL disease. That connected with multiple responsibilities gives me no other choice. The last 4 years have been wonderful. I've met so many great people here, that it is impossible to compare to anything else. Lately, I've become a leader of the Department and this nuthouse has been a great challenge and a lot of fun to lead. However, the time has come to announce my official retirement from the positions of Logistics Commanding Officer and Chambers Advisory Member." The director hung his head for a moment letting the news sink in and losing himself in his own thoughts for but a moment. After a few long seconds he turned to his Executive Officer and long time friend, "Gath - you have been the most awesome XO I could have asked for. You've been always there for me and for any other Logistics member. For that - in accordance with Chamber's approval - I'm promoting you to the Commanding Officer of the Logistics Department as well as promoting you to the rank of Chief Administrator." As the audience cheered for the new Logistics CO, Alex unpinned his CO insignia from his uniform and attached them to Gath's along with his new rank pins in a gesture both literally and figuratively handing the department over. The two men shares some private words of thanks and well wishes before saluting each other and shaking hands.
Alex turned once more to the audience with his hands outstretched, "Now, before your new Logistics CO makes some further announcements I've one more thing to say. Thank you everyone. Long Live the Coalition and may the Loggie Ale continue to flow freely!"
Gath smiled amidst the thunderous applause and began speaking over the noise, "First, I want to say, that, I think I speak for everyone, not just Logistics, but all of TC, when I say we will miss you. It has been great working for you, & learning from you. I hope you can find your way back to us sometime, even if it's just to say hello. Now, this leaves the XO position open. After careful considerations, our Supervisory Officer, Lhornic Dappuratt, has agreed to take over this position. Which of course means we are now lacking a Supervisory Officer! So, I approached another long standing member of Logistics. I am very pleased to announce, that Rick Fias will be taking over the SO position for us. To complete this avalanche of promotions Renan Skycrawler will hereby assume the duties of Zone 1 Leader effective immediately." Gath
As the audience cheered and applauded the announcements three, large holoprojectors went live projecting holograms of the Coalition's three Consuls on the stage behind Gath. The three men stood stoicly looking out at the crowd gathered before Consul Kem stepped forward to speak, "Coalitioners, if you ever want to rise far in TC, you need look no farther than to Alex as a prime example of what it takes. Loyalty, persistence, and hard work to not only give back to the Coalition but also to work on bettering yourself everyday from the experiences you gather here.. He is the perfect role model of what the Coalition represents that we all should remember and aspire to become. Though he is not going to be completely gone, his presence will be missed all the same. We thank Alex for all you've done, you deserve all the best in your retirement, and I've just heard from ProConsul Nadgob that he's always looking for another fishing partner should you be interested."
With that he stepped back and Consul Leonatos stepped forward now, "To our new Logistics leaders, Gath, Lhornic, and Rick, you have the full support and confidence of your Consuls and of Chambers. We look forward to seeing you three in action and expect that the Logistics Department will continue to improve as it has throughout the years. Congratulations to you all, it is well deserved."
Last but not least Consul Racto stepped forth with a smirk on his face, "Alex, we know that one of the hardest things for ex-loggies is suffering from Loggy Ale withdrawal. To help you get through this hard time we approved the released of a special, aged brew of Loggy Ale along with a large shipment of the standard brew just for you. Here, take a look!" The Consul motioned to the screen behind them which appeared to show a live feed of Coalition workers unloading barrel after barrel of Log Ale into Alex's personal estate on Istic III.
The Consuls in unison spoke to the crowd now, "Ladies and Gentlemen, one more time for your new Logistics Command Group!"
  
With one final announcement from Chief Administrator Perrin that there would be an open bar all night, the ceremony came to a conclusion with a thunderous roar of "LONG LIVE THE COALITION!" |
